Jovaria Baig is currently working with children and adolescents aged 5 years old and above, adults in psychiatric hospitals and clients recovering from substance abuse issues. Jovaria is currently completing her dissertation on marriage and family studies with an emphasis and special interest in adolescents.

Jovaria Baig is currently working with children and adolescents aged 5 years old and above, adults in psychiatric hospitals and clients recovering from substance abuse issues. Jovaria is currently completing her dissertation on marriage and family studies with an emphasis and special interest in adolescents. Jovaria has provided counseling services to several people who suffer from anxiety issues, depression, domestic violence, PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Insomnia, Test Anxiety, Relationship issues, Grief, and cultural issues. 


Jovaria has had the pleasure of working as a tutor for 6 to 7 years at Liberty Junior High School and Richardson Junior High school helping students aged 12 and up with their academics. Jovaria has also had the pleasure of working at Mountain View College and provided counseling services to the college students during her graduate internship. She has experience working with adolescents and young adults, especially with career counseling. She also has 3 years of experience conducting assessments for patients that meet inpatient hospitalization criteria. She has extensive knowledge in completing assessments for individuals aged 5 years old up to 60 years old that have experience military and non-military related trauma. To go a step further Jovaria has experience providing counseling services for Veterans with PTSD, addiction issues, disability issues, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Jovaria has experience hosting both large and small groups for women and men utilizing psycho-education.

She is experienced in creating treatment plans, utilizing psychiatric and psychological evaluations and discharge planning for clients/patients. I am also experienced in family therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, and crisis resolution.

Theoretical Orientation:

Jovaria’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and she utilizes techniques such as challenging cognitive distortions, disputing irrational beliefs, and relaxation techniques with adolescents, adults, and families. She also utilizes thematic imagery and progressive muscle relaxation with clients who suffer from severe anxiety. And not to mention she also utilizes person-centered therapy with her clients for genuine, unconditional positive regard, and congruency.

Jovaria’s Availability:  Friday evenings 5p-9p and Saturdays 10a-3p. Limited Sunday availability by appointment only. Garland location only

Jovaria’s rates range between $80-$140 for private pay. She currently accepts BCBS plans.
